Romanian Stock Indices Post Winning Streak, Digi Communications Leads Blue-chip Declinations

BUCHAREST (Romania), February 3 (SeeNews) – Romanian stock indices ended Thursday’s session in the red after five consecutive green sessions, according to telecommunications service provider Digi Communications [BSE:DIGI] the top-notch decliners at the pace, according to data from the Bucharest Stock Exchange, BVB.

The total turnover of BVB shares amounted to some 45.33 million lei (10.3 million dollars / 9.2 million euros) on Thursday, against 49 million lei on Wednesday, the site said. BVB website.

Digi Communications led the blue-chip declines on Thursday as its share price fell 2.44% to 43.9 lei.

Premier oil and gas group OMV Petrom [BSE:SNP] fell 1.75% to 0.4770 lei in the largest trading turnover during the session, of 14.06 million lei. OMV Petrom said on Thursday that its net profit rose to 2.864 billion lei in 2021, from 1.291 billion lei the previous year.

First-class lender BRD Societe Generale Group [BSE:BRD] rose 1.47% to 20.7 lei in the second highest turnover of the day of 4.96 million lei.

Banca Transilvania prime lender [BSE:TLV] amounted to 2.69 lei in the third turnover of the day of 3.9 million lei.

BET-TR is the first total return index launched by BVB. It is based on the structure of the BET market benchmark. BET-TR tracks changes in the price of its component stocks and is adjusted to also reflect dividends paid by constituent companies.

BET Plus tracks price changes of Romanian companies listed on BVB’s regulated market that meet the minimum liquidity and free float screening criteria. Financial investment companies are excluded from the index.

BET-FI is the first sector index launched by BVB and reflects the evolution of the prices of FIS and other similar entities.

BET-BK was designed to be used as a benchmark by asset managers and other institutional investors.

BET-NG is a sector index that reflects the evolution of all companies listed on the BVB regulated market included in the energy and related utilities sector. The maximum index weighting a company can hold is 30%.

BET-XT tracks the price changes of the 25 most quoted companies on the BVB regulated market, including FIS.

BET-XT-TR is the total return version of the BET-XT index, which includes the top 25 Romanian companies listed on the BVB.

ROTX is an index developed by BVB in collaboration with the Vienna Stock Exchange. It tracks, in real time, the price changes of top-notch shares traded on the Bucharest Stock Exchange.

BET AeRO is the first index for the AeRO market developed by BVB. BET AeRO reflects the price performance of representative companies listed on the AeRO market that meet liquidity and free-float market capitalization criteria. It is a free-float, market capitalization-weighted index with a maximum weighting of 15% for an index constituent.
